On 20 March, 2026, the School of Liberal Arts (SLA), Uttaranchal University, successfully organized a community engagement activity on environmental awareness in the Seminar Hall, SLA. Conducted between 12:30 P.M. and 1:30 P.M., the program witnessed enthusiastic participation from approximately 120–150 students, including a strong presence from the students from various disciplines. The session opened with an introduction to environmental challenges and the importance of individual responsibility. This was followed by a series of thoughtfully curated performances. Stand-up comedy by Sneha, Mehek, and Ritul highlighted everyday environmental issues in a light yet impactful manner. Poetry recitation by Bipasha Sinha beautifully captured themes of nature and sustainability, while Yukti contributed through both debate and a powerful Nukkad Natak.
A thematic skit titled “Pani Pani” formed the centerpiece of the event, depicting pressing environmental concerns and practical solutions. The performance featured a diverse cast including Swati Bisht (Jalpari), Astha Rajput (Thirsty Kid), Akshat Kathait (Neta Ji), Gauri Rastogi (Kid), Gunjan Dasila (General Public), Abhyuday Shankar Kala (Script Writer & Actor), and Kunga Choephel (Father & Woodcutter). The script and organization were led by Gargi Singh, with anchoring support from Samvedna and Anushika. Anamika’s role emphasizing the concept of 5R’s (Refuse, Reduce, Reuse, Repurpose, Recycle) added a strong awareness dimension.
The initiative aligns with the broader vision of Viksit Bharat and the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). The organizing team expressed sincere gratitude to Prof. Dharam Buddhi, Vice Chancellor, Uttaranchal University; Prof. Kartikey, Director, SLA; and Prof. (Dr.) Reeta Rautela, HOD-SLA, for their continuous support and guidance. The event was coordinated by Dr. Ravi Kumar Goyal, assistant professor, who played a key role in conceptualizing and mentoring the activity.
