The Uttaranchal Institute of Pharmaceutical Sciences (UIPS), Uttaranchal University, successfully organized the 5th International Conference on “Herbal Treasures of Uttarakhand, Himalayas: From Indigenous Use to Global Formulations (HTUH: IGF-2026)” on 6–7 February 2026, in association with the Association of Pharmaceutical Teachers of India (APTI). The conference was sponsored by ANRF-SERB and CSIR, along with several reputable academic and industrial organizations. The conference brought together academics, researchers, industry professionals, and students to discuss the scientific validation, innovation, and global potential of Himalayan herbal resources. The program began with the welcome and felicitation of dignitaries and was inaugurated by Ms. Ankita Joshi (Vice President), Prof. (Dr.) Dharam Buddhi (Vice-Chancellor), Prof. (Dr.) Rajesh Bahuguna (Pro Vice-Chancellor), and Prof. (Dr.) Vikash Jakhmola, Director, UIPS. The conference abstract book was released on this occasion.
The Chief Guest, Prof. (Dr.) Durgesh Pant, Director General, UCOST, emphasized the importance of scientifically validating traditional knowledge, driving innovation, and advancing sustainable development. The Guests of Honour and keynote speakers—Dr. Arvind Saklani (Sami-Sabinsa Group Ltd.), Dr. Deependra Singh (Vice President, APTI & Chairman, ERC-PCI), and Mr. Bhushan Ghollar (Geltec Innovative Healthcare)—delivered insightful talks on phytopharmaceutical advancements and industry–academia collaboration. Technical sessions covered phytopharmaceutical development, in silico studies, nutraceuticals, biomass-derived materials, formulation challenges, and industrial perspectives. On Day 2, Dr. Vinod Tiwari (IIT-BHU) delivered a lecture on the pharmacological modulation of chronic pain. A special address by Dr. Rajeev Kumar Sharma, President, APTI, and the launch of a new practical manual were key highlights. APTI Awards were conferred on distinguished professionals. Prof. Ranjit Singh received the Lifetime Achievement Award; Dr. Vipin Kumar, the Best Researcher Award; Dr. Arvind Singh Farswan and Dr. Ashok Behera, the Best Faculty Awards; and Dr. Shashank Shekher Mishra, the Young Scientist Award.
