Law College Dehradun organized a Legal Awareness Camp on 30 September 2025, at Shree Gurunanak Public Girls Inter College, Prem Nagar, Dehradun, on the occasion of the 4th year of establishment of the Pro Bono Club. The event aimed to educate young students about their legal rights and provisions under Indian law, promoting legal literacy and empowering them with knowledge of the legal system.
The session commenced with a warm gesture by Premjeet Kumar, the Convenor of the Pro Bono Club, who felicitated the Principal of the host institution by presenting a sapling, symbolizing growth and knowledge. This was followed by a brief introduction to the Pro Bono Club, its objectives, and how it plays a vital role in spreading legal awareness and providing support to those in need, especially marginalized sections of society. Several key speakers from the club including Tanya Rastogi, Palak Gupta, Yukti Khatter, and Vidhi Tiwari, addressed various important legal topics like Domestic Violence, Right to Privacy, Right to Education, and various government schemes and initiatives aimed at empowering women and children. The students were also informed about key helpline numbers, including: 1098 – Child Helpline, 1091 – Women Helpline.
The session concluded with a Vote of Thanks delivered by the Convenor of the Pro Bono Club, appreciating the enthusiastic participation of the students and the support of the host institution. The Principal of Shree Gurunanak Public Girls Inter College expressed her gratitude for conducting such an enlightening session. She also extended an invitation for future collaborations to continue educating students on important legal topics and rights. The event was a resounding success, reflecting the core values of the Pro Bono Club – to spread legal awareness, empower the youth, and uphold justice.
