The event “Color Your Calm” was conducted on 1st October 2025 as an innovative experiential learning session aimed at promoting mindfulness and self-expression among students through the therapeutic medium of Mandala coloring. At the outset, a concise ice-breaking discussion was facilitated to foster psychological safety and engage participants in reflective dialogue like inviting students to share their childhood favorite colors and the memories or emotions associated with those hues. This initial activity established a supportive environment, highlighting the personal and cultural associations individuals form with colors from an early age.

The central phase of the event focused on conscious Mandala coloring, in which students collaboratively engaged with intricate designs using a variety of colored markers and pencils. During this process, participants were encouraged to be present and attuned to their emotional responses to color selection and pattern creation, reinforcing the mindfulness component of the intervention. The activity aligned with evidence-based practices in art therapy, which posit that structured creative tasks can foster emotional regulation and stress relief while improving focus and psychological resilience.

A distinctive feature of “Color Your Calm” was the inclusion of color and theme analysis; students were prompted to reflect upon their completed Mandalas and articulate the symbolism and affective meaning behind their choices. To culminate the experience, each student composed a personal quote that encapsulated the essence of their artwork and its connection to their current psychological state. This reflective writing exercise provided an opportunity for metacognitive processing and encouraged deeper insight into the interplay between visual art, color psychology, and individual well-being.

Overall, the event adeptly integrated art-based mindfulness, psychological analysis, and self-reflective practices, resulting in a vibrant atmosphere of collective calm and personal growth. “Color Your Calm” successfully demonstrated how creative interventions can nurture emotional awareness and resilience in academic settings.
