International Webinar on “Leadership, Innovation, and Women’s Role in Shaping the Future of Tourism.” organised by Uttaranchal Institute of Management, Uttaranchal University on September 24th, 2025

On 24th September 2025, the Uttaranchal Institute of Management (UIM), Uttaranchal University, Dehradun, successfully organized an international webinar on the theme “Leadership, Innovation, and Women’s Role in Shaping the Future of Tourism.” The session brought together global perspectives on how leadership and innovation are driving forces in the evolving tourism sector, with special emphasis on the indispensable role of women in shaping its sustainable future. The webinar commenced with an inaugural address by Prof. (Dr.) Pradeep Suri, Director, UIM, Uttaranchal University, who warmly welcomed the distinguished guest speaker and participants. In his address, Prof. (Dr.) Pradeep Suri emphasized the growing significance of tourism as a transformative industry that not only contributes to economic development but also fosters cultural exchange and inclusivity. The keynote session was delivered by Prof. (Dr.) Gül Erkol Bayram, Vice Dean – Faculty of Tourism, Coordinator, International Relations Office, Department of Tour Guiding, Sinop University, an eminent expert in tourism leadership and sustainable innovation. The speaker shared profound insights into the global tourism landscape, discussing how technological advancement, leadership styles, and women’s empowerment are together redefining the sector. With thought-provoking examples, the session highlighted how women leaders are increasingly influencing policies, entrepreneurial ventures, and community-based tourism initiatives, thereby paving the way for inclusive growth. The webinar concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by Dr. Tilottama Singh, HoD, UIM, Uttaranchal University.
