The HR Club of Uttaranchal Institute of Management, Uttaranchal University, successfully organized an engaging HR-based activity, Talent Tussle, on 2 September 2025.
The event began with inspiring words from Prof. (Dr.) Pradeep Suri, Director, UIM, who emphasized the importance of experiential learning and highlighted how HR skills like decision-making, role alignment, and talent acquisition shape future leaders. Prof. (Dr.) Tilottama Singh, Head of Department, UIM, also graced the occasion, applauding the HR Club’s efforts to create innovative platforms for student development.
Talent Tussle was designed as a solo, multi-round challenge that tested participants through real-world HR simulations. The rounds assessed diverse competencies, including quick decision-making, problem-solving, talent management, and adaptability under pressure. Students exhibited sharp reflexes, analytical strength, and creativity, successfully applying classroom concepts to practical situations. The competition provided an excellent opportunity to build confidence, demonstrate leadership skills, and gain valuable managerial insights.
The event drew enthusiastic participation from over 100 undergraduate and postgraduate students and was executed under the guidance of Dr. Aashish Dhiman, Head of the HR Club, along with faculty members and the Student Committee. Faculty members appreciated these practice-driven learning experiences for enhancing professional skills.
The winners were announced at the conclusion: Karan Pal from BBA 1st Year secured first place, while Nikki Kumari and Khushi Rajput, both MBA 1st Year students, won the second and third positions respectively. The Student Organizing Committee proposed the vote of thanks.
Overall, Talent Tussle proved to be an enriching platform for sharpening HR acumen and fostering healthy competition in a professional learning environment.
