The UIT-CEC, hosted the Remembrance Day for Partition Survivors on August 13, 2025, at 3:30 PM in the UIT Seminar Hall. The purpose of the event was to honor the bravery and tenacity of the 1947 Partition survivors while teaching the next generation about the human cost of independence

With the lyrical Kulgeet accompanying the Lamp Lighting Ceremony, the event kicked off with a solemn aura of remembering. Faculty members were then given handmade national flags as a symbolic gesture in remembrance of the sacrifices that paved the way for India's independence.

The session formally opened with a welcome address by Aung Ko Myo and smooth anchoring by Harsh Gupta. An introductory speech by Ayush Godiyal highlighted the displacement, loss, and resilience of millions during the Partition.

The event’s intellectual depth was enriched by Prof. (Dr.) Sumit Chaudhary, Dean & Director of UIT, delivered a powerful speech on unity, dignity, and rebuilding amidst adversity, leaving the audience reflective and inspired.

One of the most emotional highlights was the screening of the short film “AZADII”, a moving blend of archival visuals, survivor voices, and stirring music, which offered an immersive glimpse into the Partition’s emotional realities. This was followed by a patriotic musical performance by Jigme Wongchuk, Vani Yadav, and Harsh Gupta (guitar), whose heartfelt rendition evoked national pride and unity.

As the event drew to a close, Aditi Gupta offered a thoughtful reflection on the day’s significance, followed by a graceful Vote of Thanks by Dr. Pinki Chugh and Dr. Sanjeev Kumar Shah, expressing gratitude to dignitaries and participants.

The program concluded with the National Anthem, uniting the gathering in respect and patriotic pride. The event served as a meaningful tribute to the survivors while instilling a renewed sense of responsibility among the students
