The School of Agriculture, Uttaranchal University, celebrated the month-long local festival “Harela” on 18 July 2025 by organising a plantation drive within the university campus. The event was a beautiful reflection of Uttarakhand’s deep-rooted connection with nature and the collective commitment to protecting the environment.
This year’s celebration was made even more special by the presence of Dr Vipin Prakash, Scientist F and Head of the Forest Pathology Division at the Forest Research Institute, Dehradun. He joined the plantation activities and shared his valuable thoughts with the faculty members, inspiring everyone to stay connected with nature through action and awareness.
Prof. (Dr.) Sharad Pandey, Director of the School of Agriculture, led the event and addressed the gathering warmly. He encouraged all to participate wholeheartedly in planting more trees and protecting green spaces in their surroundings.
Faculty members and staff actively took part in the plantation drive and exchanged wishes, making the day both meaningful and memorable. The event concluded on a positive note, with a collective sense of pride in contributing to a greener and more sustainable future.
