On the occasion of World Health Day, April 7, 2025, the Uttaranchal Institute of Pharmaceutical Sciences (UIPS), Uttaranchal University, organized a Free Eye Check-up Camp to promote eye health and general well-being among students, faculty, and staff. The Camp was conceptualized and conducted under the guidance of Prof. (Dr.) Vikash Jakhmola, Dean, UIPS; Dr. Nidhi Gairola, HoD, UIPS; and coordinated by Ms. Shalu Verma, Assistant Professor, and Mr. Ashish Singh Chauhan, Assistant Professor at UIPS.
World Health Day 2025 was celebrated globally under the theme "Healthy Beginnings, Hopeful Futures”, emphasizing the universal right to access quality health services and information. Aligning with this theme, the eye check-up camp provided free, comprehensive eye examinations and consultations to ensure accessible healthcare services within the university campus.
The camp was conducted in collaboration with expert optometrists from Titan Eye Plus, who carried out detailed eye screenings and provided professional advice. The initiative aimed to create awareness about the importance of regular eye check-ups in preventing vision problems and maintaining overall health.
The overall health conditions of all teaching and non-teaching staff across various institutes and schools of Uttaranchal University were assessed by specialists during the camp. After thorough screening, the Optometrist provided necessary medication, recommendations, and the precautions where required. The services offered included eye testing, eye care tips, free spectacle servicing, and cleaning. Over 100 individuals registered for the check-up during the camp.
