An Experiential Learning Programme on Nursery Management was successfully conducted by the School of Agriculture, Uttaranchal University, Dehradun, from 18 February to 25 April 2025. The programme was coordinated under the guidance of Dr Rajat Singh, Assistant Professor, who actively mentored the students throughout the training. A total of 32 students from B Sc (Hons) Agriculture VIII semester participated in the programme. Over the course of two months, students engaged in practical sessions that introduced them to key nursery management practices. They learned to prepare quality growing media using Perlite, Vermiculite, and Cocopeat, and carried out seed sowing of vegetable and ornamental crops. The objective was to help students gain practical skills aligned with sustainable and modern agricultural approaches. Through guided learning and regular interaction, Dr Rajat Singh motivated the students to adopt scientific nursery practices and consider nursery management as a viable area for self-employment or career growth. This programme reflects Uttaranchal University’s strong commitment to experiential learning. It offered students a valuable opportunity to connect classroom knowledge with practical application, helping them build confidence and readiness for professional roles in agriculture.
