In April 2025, the Central Library at Uttaranchal University had the privilege of hosting students from esteemed institutions as part of their educational tours, aimed at enhancing practical exposure to library systems, resources, and digital services.
On April 3rd, 2025, a group of 30 Bachelor of Library & Information Science students from H.N.B. Garhwal University visited the libraries of Uttaranchal University.
On April 5th, 2025, 10 Bachelor of Library & Information Science students from S.M.R. Janjatiya (P.G.) College, Dehradun, visited as part of their educational tour.
On April 11, 2025, 20 students from the B.Ed and M.Ed programs of Dayanand Bachhrawan P.G. College, Rae Bareli, Lucknow, toured the libraries of Uttaranchal University.
All visits were conducted under the guidance of their respective Heads of Departments. The objective of these tours was to provide students with first-hand experience of university-level library operations, including organization, resource management, digital integration, and user services.
During the visits, students were introduced to various facilities and services offered by the Central Library, such as:
An overview of print and digital collections
Access to e-resources and online databases
Use of integrated library management systems (ERP–LIBCYB)
Digital repositories and research support tools
These interactions not only offered valuable insights into modern library practices but also inspired the students to appreciate the vital role libraries play in academic and research excellence.
