Women Safety Organized by Women’s Cell, UIT

On 22 November 2024, the Women’s Cell of Uttaranchal Institute of Technology (UIT) organized a debate competition titled "Are Government's Efforts Enough to Ensure Women Safety?" The event, held under the aegis of the Computer Science & Engineering Department, saw active participation and engaging discussions. The program was graced by Prof (Dr) Sumit Chaudhary, Director UIT, and Prof (Dr) Madhu Kirola, HoD, CSE UIT as Chief Guests. Ms Anuradha Brijwal and Ms Pratibha Dimri, faculty members of the CSE Department, coordinated the event. The participants discussed government efforts such as stricter laws, helpline services, and awareness campaigns, as well as the challenges of inadequate implementation, societal issues, and delays in the justice system. Mr Arpit Goel and Ms Swarnima Gupta, Assistant Professors at UIT judged the competition. The winners were: 

  • 1st Position: Jaimin Joshi and Anjana Gupta (Team 2) 

  • Runners-Up: Ziya Yadav and Abhishek Ranjan (Team 5) 

  • Best Speaker: Shubham Yadav 

The event concluded with an interactive Q&A session, allowing the audience to contribute their perspectives, making the discussions more enriching. The Women’s Cell Committee extended gratitude to all participants, faculty, and audience for making the event a success.
