Uttaranchal University hosted an enlightening session at the Swami Vivekananda Auditorium featuring Dr Shipra Bhatia, a distinguished figure with over 15 years of experience in the education industry. Dr Bhatia, a Harvard World Record holder, has been recognized among the top 10 artists in the ‘Super Senior Category’ by the Indian Art Factory in the Artist of India Awards 2024 and is the recipient of the “International Arts Excellence Awards, 2023” by the renowned Padma Shri awardee Shri Biman Bihari Das.
The session began with the ceremonial lamp lighting, followed by the University anthem, ‘Kulgeet’. Dr. Bhatia's assessment of the question of whether management is an art, or a science fascinated the audience. She discussed the inherent value of art and emphasised that everyone has some creative ability. She talked about the beginnings of art and creativity, citing examples such as Pablo Picasso, and emphasised the need to strike a balance between artistic pursuits and the frequently demanding demands of professional life.
Dr Bhatia also highlighted that art serves not only as a healing exercise but can also be a source of passive income, particularly for managers. She encouraged the audience to hone their skills, create their own brand, and leverage their talents for additional income alongside their careers.
The session was profoundly enriching, offering attendees valuable insights into the interplay between art and management. The event concluded with a vote of thanks proposed by Dr Rekha Verma, Associate Professor, Uttaranchal Institute of Management, Uttaranchal University, who expressed sincere gratitude to Dr Bhatia for her inspiring discourse and to the organizers for facilitating such a compelling and informative event.
