The Uttaranchal School of Hotel and Hospitality Management, Uttaranchal University organized an event to observe "Vibhaajan Vibhishika Smriti Diwas" (Partition Horrors Remembrance Day) on 14 August 2024. The event commemorated the tragic experiences of those affected by the partition of India in 1947. Distinguished dignitaries, including Dr Manish Badoni, Principal USHHM, Mr Hitendra Chauhan, Mr Abhishek Negi, Mr Kamal Singh Bisht, and students Roshan Singh and Ashish Kumar, shared their thoughts on the partition of India.

The event featured activities to raise awareness among students and faculty members about the partition's historical significance and its impact on millions of lives. Participants engaged in discussions, presentations, and reflective sessions to honour the memory of those who suffered during this period. This observance also provided an opportunity for the academic community to understand the importance of peace, unity, and reconciliation. This initiative is part of the institution's broader mission to incorporate social and historical awareness into its curriculum.
