The orientation program “Diksharambh 2024” for students of School of Applied and Life Sciences (SALS) was started from 12 August 2024After registration & reporting in the department, students were introduced with program coordinators, department HODs as well as mentors. On 14 August students visited central library to know about the e-resources and other facility in library.
On 16 August, educational tour to Zoological Survey of India, Himalayan Wellness, Alder Biochem, Ved Life Savers and ONGC Dehradun were organised. Industry Experts also interacted with students.
On 20 August, cultural talent hunt was organized in which dancing, singing performed by the students. Vanshika, Shivangi, Rakhi were awarded with prizes & certificate.
On 21 August, Session was organised in Auditorium where top management and other officials of the university (President, Vice-president, Vice Chancellor, Pro-Vice Chancellor, Dean Student Welfare, DRI Director) were introduced. The students were given an understanding of the university's core values, vision, and mission. Prof (Dr) Ajay Singh, Director briefed the highlights of curriculum in another session.
The Corporate Resource Center (CRC) head and team members interacted with students and briefed about training & placement assistance. Further, the students were appraised about the central library facilities by Dr Ramveer Tanvar. ERP System was briefed by the technical staff of the ERP section. A few sports and fun games activity were also organized.
The goal of the orientation program was to give a thorough introduction to university life, academic resources, and extracurricular activities to lay a solid academic foundation for their time at the School of Applied and Life Sciences at Uttaranchal University.
