World Environment Day was celebrated by School of Applied & Life Sciences, Uttaranchal University by organising Plantation drive & Seminar on “Environment Protection & Sustainability”. The keynote speaker for the seminar was Dr Manmohan Rawat, Senior Scientist & Research Head, Uttarakhand State Council for Science & Technology, Dehradun.
The event was inaugurated by Dr Manmohan Rawat, Dean SALS, Prof (Dr) Ajay Singh, Dr V K Srivastava, Dr Bharti Ramola and Dr Nishesh Sharma. Dr Ajay Singh highlighted the need of awareness program on Environment Protection. He motivated students for awareness program & plantation in the societies.
Dr Manmohan Rawat briefed about factors of environment protection & sustainability. Dr Nishesh Sharma discussed about biodegradability. On this occasion “Amrit Herbal Vatika” was also established by Applied & Life Science which was inaugurated by Dean & guest speaker. Plantation was done by all dignitaries in Amrit Vatika. A Vote of thanks was proposed by Dr Bharti Ramola. About 40 students participated in plantation session.
