On World Water Day and in response to the pressing need for water conservation and its sustainable usage, students of Eco- Club & NCC Uttaranchal University organised an Awareness Drive in Aamwala (Sahaspur district) Dehradun on 22 March 2024.
Water, the essence of life, is increasingly becoming scarce, especially in rural areas. This initiative aimed to educate and empower our community to preserve and cherish this precious resource for future generations.
Students from various Colleges/Institutes/Schools of Uttaranchal University participated in the awareness drive. Prof (Dr) Ajay Singh, President Eco Club flagged off the rally of the students. The students prepared posters and explained the importance of clean water for drinking and how they can use wastewater in fields. Students also informed the villagers regarding Health hazards due to usage of contaminated water and sustainable management of freshwater resources
The students were accompanied by Prof (Dr) Bharti Ramola, Vice- President, Eco-Club, Dr Shivam Pandey, Coordinator Eco- Club, SALS, Lieutenant Nitin Duklan ANO, Uttaranchal University and Mr Sarweshwar Prasad, PI NCC.
