Seminar on Global Women Breakfat by ACS

The School of Applied and Life Sciences organized a seminar on ‘Role of Women in Indigenous Development in Research for Sustainability’. The seminar was organized by the Resonance Club of Chemistry as a part of the ACS-UU International Chapter for Global Women Breakfast on 27 February 2024. Global Women Breakfast is an annual event of American Chemical Society held in the month of February every year where they organize events to honors women in science, highlighting their achievements. 

The event started with the lighting of a lamp followed by a welcome speech by Prof (Dr) Ajay Singh, Dean SALS. He briefed then students regarding the GWB event of ACS. A video was played for students which highlighted GWB events held across the globe and their significance. 

A number of students participated in a presentation competition on the topic ‘Role of Women in Indigenous development in research for sustainability. Ms Nandini Sharma and Ms Tuba Urooz won the first and second prize respectively. 

The event was meticulously anchored by Ms Monika Mishra and a vote of thanks was proposed by Prof (Dr) Bharti Ramola, coordinator of the event. This event was followed by a workshop on 28 February 2024 to celebrate Science Day.
