The purpose of this of this event is to promote linguistic and cultural diversity and multilingualism. It also aims at celebrating the ways of expressing the world in its multiplicity, committing to the preservation of the diversity of the languages as a common heritage, and working for quality education – in mother tongues for all. The 24thedition of International Mother Language Day focus on the theme ‘multilingual education – a necessity to transform education `. School of Liberal Arts (SLA) celebrated the day by promoting the use of regional mother languages amongst students through various tasks planned by ZENITH: THE LITERARY CLUB.
On 21st February 2023, zenith -The Literary Club of School of Liberal Arts (SLA)organized BHAAV (expressions of language) to celebrate international mother language day. From banners to providing a space to express the beauty of their respective languages, the celebration took place with great excitement. The dean of School of Liberal Arts Prof. Dr Shravan Kumar inaugurated the event by writing about the importance of language and expressed his thoughts.Later,the HOD Dr. Reeta Rautela expressed her view through the medium of Punjabi language. All the other faculty members later joined in and expressed their views through various languages including Urdu,Hindi,English, Haryanvi etc. Not only the faculty members but also students from School of Liberal Arts had a fun experience while expressing their thoughts through various languages.
The faculty members were also accompanied by few faculty members from BAJMC. The event was coordinated by Ms Shikha Bharti. The faculty members, the students and all the club members jotted down their thoughts. A small photo session was also held where all the students and faculty members participated in high spirits. ` Hello’ knows no bounds, expressing the diversity in language, popular phrases from all India were available as props and a photo corner was prepared. Some students volunteered in the decorations and preparations of props and after all it was officially a wrap.
