Uttaranchal School of Journalism & Mass Communication, Uttaranchal University under the aegis of Happy Pixels Photography Club organized a guest lecture on “The Journey of Doordarshan & Its contribution in Human Empowerment” on the occasion of “Doordarshan Establishment Day” which is observed on 15 September.
The event began with the lighting of the lamp by Dr. Jitendra Kumar Sinha Director, USJMC, Uttaranchal University, Mr Raghvendra Pandey, News Director, Doordarshan Dehradun as a keynote speaker, Mr. Paramjit Singh , Manager CRC Uttaranchal University, and Mr Vibhum Agarwal Manager CRC Uttaranchal University. The event was coordinated by Mr. Ved Praksh, Assistant Professor, USJMC, Uttaranchal University.
Mr Raghvendra Pandey started his session with the history of Doordarshan and then he went to establish the relationship between Doordarshan and its role on human empowerment. After his speech he also answered queries of students in the Q&A Session.
The event ended with the vote of thanks proposed by Mr Ved Prakash, Assistant Professor, USJMC. He Thanked Dr. Jitendra Kumar Sinha Director, USJMC for his guidance and support and the Keynote speaker, Mr Raghvendra Pandey for sharing his unique insights and perspective of Doordarshan and media industry as whole, and he also thanked to all the faculty members and technical staff for their support to make the event successful.
