On 14th September, 2022, Uttaranchal School of Journalism and Mass Communication of Uttaranchal University, Dehradun, under the aegis of Media club, USJMC organised a “Kavi Samellan” (Poetry Conference) event on the occasion of Hindi Diwas, 2022 for the students of Uttaranchal School of Journalism and Mass Communication.
The event was commenced under the presence of Prof. (Dr.) Dharam Buddhi,Vice Chancellor, Uttaranchal University, Prof. (Dr.) Rajesh Bahuguna, Pro Vice Chancellor, Prof.(Dr.) Shravan Kumar, Dean, School of Liberal Arts, Prof. (Dr.) Vikash Jakhmola, Director, UIPS, and Dr. Jitendra Kumar Sinha, Director, Uttaranchal School of Journalism and Mass Communication. The event was graced by renowned poets and poetesses – Ms. Dolly Dabral, Mr. Shiv Mohan Singh, Ms. Kavita Bisht and Syed Shadab Ali Masshaddi as the special guest and performer for the event.
The event started with the University Kul Geet followed by the felicitation of guests and the respected dignitaries of the University. The podium was taken over by Ms. Kavita Bisht who dedicated her poetry on Patriotism and Women Power. Followed by her was a magical recitation by Syed Shadab Ali Masshaddi, a renowned poet who expressed the emotions of Unity in diversity. He also dedicated some lines to the importance of Hindi language. Then, Mr. Shiv Mohan Singh dedicated his poetry to the students and also recited a mesmerizing poem on love. At the end Poetess Ms. Dolly Dabral recited the poem about the expression of love. She also dedicated her poem to all the girls of this modern era. The event was concluded with a vote of thanks by Prof. (Dr.) Rajesh bahuguna.
Asstt. Prof. USJMC Ms. Smriti Uniyal hosted the Kavi Samellan. Ms. Anjulika Ghoshal, Asstt. Professor, USJMC, Ms. Roohi Quadri, Assistt. Professor, USJMC, Mr. Pawan Dabral, Asstt. Professor, USJMC, and Mr. Ved Prakash Bhatt, Asstt. Professor, USJMC were also present during the event.
