Uttaranchal Institute of Management, Uttaranchal University organised “Faculty Orientation Programme for Quality Enhancement-2022” on 5 August 2022, with an aim to sensitize and motivate the new faculty members. The program enabled them to understand their roles and responsibilities and familiarized them with the structure, governance, rules and regulations, functioning of the department, exploring pedagogical processes and recognizing the significance of socio-emotional development of students and inculcating the importance of nurturing ethics and values in higher education.
At the outset Prof (Dr) Pradeep Suri, Dean, UIM delivered a welcome address and helped faculty members to understand their key roles and responsibilities. He suggested faculty members to analyze their teaching practice, with a focus on how their teaching practices can affect learning outcomes for their students. Dr. Deepti Sharma, DIQAC, UIM briefed about the Uttaranchal University and Uttaranchal Institute of Management by discussing its mission and vision and its core value. Mr. Rohit Dhiman, Assistant Professor, UIM discussed in detail functionalities of ERP. Mr. Anil Singh Chauhan, COE, UIM elaborated on examination and evaluation scheme. Ms. Sonakshi Bhatia, Head, Cultural and Academic Affairs, UIM discussed regarding the activities of academic and non-academic clubs and cells. Dr. Babita Rawat, Associate Professor, UIM familiarized the new faculty members with the research collaborations and consultancies of UIM with different industries.
At the end, a vote of thanks was proposed by Dr. Rajeev Ranjan, Associate Professor, UIM to all the dignitaries and faculty members present. This orientation programme was successful in helping new teachers to adjust to the culture and also thoroughly understand their responsibilities.
