A workshop on “Imparting awareness on the climate change and identifying priority areas for adaption in Uttarakhand”

 

Uttaranchal University organized a workshop on “Imparting awareness on the climate change and identifying priority areas for adaption in Uttarakhand” on 3rd June 2022. The workshop was conducted in the campus of HESCO, Dehradun in the presence of Padma Bhushan Dr. Anil Joshi. He focused on economy and ecology for the sustainable development goals. He also emphasized on unemployment and industrial revolution with sustainability and asked Uttaranchal University to develop the sustainability skills among youth. Recognizing the pressing need for proactive measures in the face of climate change, Uttarakhand is initiating a comprehensive awareness campaign. The primary objective is to inform and engage diverse stakeholders, including communities, businesses, and policymakers, about the challenges posed by climate change in the region. The focus extends beyond awareness alone; the initiative aims to identify priority areas for adaptation strategies tailored to Uttarakhand's unique ecological and socio-economic context. By fostering a deeper understanding of climate-related risks and vulnerabilities, the goal is to facilitate the development of targeted solutions and resilience-building measures. This collaborative effort seeks to unite communities, experts, and decision-makers to collectively address the impacts of climate change. Through strategic awareness and identification of adaptation priorities, Uttarakhand aspires to create a more sustainable and resilient future for its people and environment.
