Uttaranchal Institute of Pharmaceutical Sciences, Uttaranchal University, conducted a drug addiction awareness program at the Nayi Subah Drug De-Addiction & Rehabilitation Centre, Badowala, Dehradun, on 24 March 2025. The program aimed to educate drug addicted participants on the dangers of substance abuse and inspire them towards recovery.

The event featured engaging sessions by Mr Abhishek Singh and Mr Ayush Dangwal, Assistant Professors, UIPS under the guidance of Prof (Dr) Vikash Jakhmola, Director, UIPS, Uttaranchal University. Both speakers delivered tailored lectures, addressing the diverse age groups of the 40 patients present at the rehabilitation centre. Their impactful messages resonated deeply with the participants, fostering active engagement and a willingness to learn.

Highlighting the program was a heartfelt moment where the event coordinator led everyone in taking a pledge to live substance-free lives. Alongside the pledge, the coordinator shared real-life examples showcasing the harsh consequences of addiction and the transformative potential of recovery. These stories served as powerful motivators for the patients.

Aman Bhatt, Sachin Verma, and Aditya Singh, pharmacy students from UIPS, actively volunteered during the program, assisting in organizing and engaging with the participants. The event successfully achieved its objectives of raising awareness and encouraging patients to take positive steps in their recovery journey.
