The School of Applied and Life Sciences, Uttaranchal University, successfully organized a six-day Faculty Development Program (FDP) on “Importance of Indian Knowledge System and Multidisciplinary Collaboration in Research” from 1–6 June 2026. The program aimed to enhance the research competencies of faculty members and research scholars by focusing on research ethics, quality publications, interdisciplinary collaboration, and the integration of Indian Knowledge Systems (IKS) into contemporary research. The inaugural session, led by Prof. (Dr.) Ajay Singh, Dean Research and Convener, highlighted the significance of multidisciplinary research and the relevance of traditional Indian knowledge in addressing modern scientific challenges. The FDP featured expert sessions by distinguished academicians. Dr. Krishna Giri spoke on research publication ethics, emphasizing plagiarism, authorship, and publication integrity, while Dr. Vinit Mehrotra guided participants on selecting quality journals and identifying credible indexing systems. Dr. Gyanendra Awasthi introduced key research databases and researcher profiling platforms, including Scopus, Web of Science, Google Scholar, ORCID, and ResearcherID. Further sessions by Dr. K. P. Tripathi and Dr. Manmohan Rawat highlighted the role of quality research and multidisciplinary collaboration in driving innovation. Dr. A. K. Dixit and Dr. Madhu Jain delivered an engaging lecture on statistical methods in data analysis, emphasizing the importance of statistical tools for reliable research outcomes. On the concluding day, Dr. Dwarika Maithani, Dr. Arunesh Kumar Dixit, and Dr. Sukriti Madan shared valuable perspectives on interdisciplinary research and collaborative academic practices. The FDP concluded with a valedictory address by Prof. (Dr.) Ajay Singh, who expressed gratitude to the resource persons and participants and encouraged them to incorporate the knowledge gained into their future research and academic pursuits.
