A fire drill was successfully conducted at the Uttaranchal Institute of Pharmaceutical Sciences (UIPS) on 11 April 2026 for the staff members, as part of the institute’s ongoing commitment to safety and emergency preparedness.
The session was led by Mr. Kuldeep Singh, Fire Supervisor at Uttaranchal University. During the drill, he provided detailed information about the different classes of fire and the appropriate methods to control them. He also explained the use and importance of fire extinguishers, specifically ABC and CO₂ types, highlighting their applications in various fire situations.
A live demonstration was conducted to illustrate the correct usage of fire extinguishers. Additionally, the operation of the water pipe system installed within the building for firefighting purposes was demonstrated. Mr. Singh also explained the working mechanism of the building’s fire alarm system and emphasized the importance of timely response during emergencies.
The drill was informative and interactive, enhancing the awareness and preparedness of the staff members in handling fire-related emergencies effectively.
