Uttaranchal College of Health Sciences observed World Heart Day, 2025, with an interactive and informative session aimed at promoting heart health among healthcare students. The event began with the ceremonial lamp lighting, was graced by the presence of the Joint Registrar & Director, UCHS, and featured two eminent resource persons who enriched the learning experience with their expertise.
Dr. Rohit Kumar Chauhan, Consultant Cardio-thoracic & Vascular Surgeon at Velmed Hospital, Dehradun, addressed students on the importance of heart health, explaining the basics of cardiac care and emphasizing essential lifestyle measures to maintain a healthy heart. This session offered valuable insights into preventive strategies and daily practices for cardiovascular well-being. Subsequently, Dr. Rahul Sotie, Consultant Anaesthesiologist at Velmed Hospital, Dehradun, conducted a hands-on training session on Basic Life Support (BLS) and Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) techniques. The live demonstration and practical involvement enabled students to acquire vital life-saving skills, significantly boosting their confidence and competence in emergency care.
