Uttaranchal Institute of Management, Uttaranchal University– Deeksharambh 2025: A New Chapter Begins

Uttaranchal University, Dehradun, celebrated Deeksharambh 2025 on 12 August 2025, capturing the spirit of new beginnings with a vibrant Orientation-cum-Induction Programme for the fresh batches of the Uttaranchal Institute of Management (UIM). 

The ceremony was graced by Shri Jitendra Joshi, President, Uttaranchal University; Ms Ankita Joshi, Vice-President, Uttaranchal University; Prof (Dr) Dharam Buddhi, Vice-Chancellor, Uttaranchal University; Prof (Dr) Rajesh Bahuguna, Pro Vice-Chancellor, Uttaranchal University; Prof (Dr) Shravan Kumar, University Coordinator, Deeksharambh; Prof (Dr) Pradeep Suri, Director, UIM; Dr Sharad Pandey, Director, SOA; and Dr Manish Badoni, Director, USHHM, along with faculty members and students from each Department. The day began with a floral welcome for the guests by Prof (Dr) Pradeep Suri, followed by the traditional lamp-lighting and the University Kulgeet. 

The first half featured motivating speeches by Prof Suri, Dr Sharad Pandey, Dr Badoni, Prof (Dr) Dharam Buddhi, Prof (Dr) Rajesh Bahuguna, Ms Ankita Joshi, and Shri Jitendra Joshi. Ms Ankita Joshi warmly welcomed the freshers to their “new home”–Uttaranchal University–urging them to embrace opportunities and cherish every moment ahead. Cultural performances, including a soulful Ganesh Vandana, added to the festive spirit. A campus life video and the oath-taking ceremony, led by the Pro Vice-Chancellor, further enriched the programme. A heartfelt vote of thanks was delivered by Prof (Dr) Shravan Kumar, acknowledging the dignitaries, faculty members, organising teams and student performers. 

The post-lunch session introduced the UIM faculty, followed by addresses from Dr Anil Singh Chauhan, Head–Controller of Examinations & Disciplinary, UIM; Mr Rajesh Pant, Head–Anti-Ragging, UIM; Dr Sonakshi Bhatia, Head–Cultural & Academic Affairs; and Mr Hardev Singh, Head–Sports Club, UIM. Student performances and a final vote of thanks by the HoD concluded the programme.
