The Faculty Induction & Orientation Programme “Guru Dakshta” was organised by the Uttaranchal Institute of Technology (UIT) on 24th July 2025. The event began with a warm welcome by Dr Sumit Chaudhary, Director, UIT, who greeted the newly inducted faculty members and introduced them to the existing academic team of the institute.
Dr Chaudhary led the orientation session with a detailed presentation highlighting the institute’s mission, vision, academic framework, and research culture. He also provided a comprehensive overview of Uttaranchal University’s rules and regulations, co-curricular engagement, IQAC structure, and other key institutional policies concerning faculty development and responsibilities.
As part of the programme, Dr Chaudhary introduced the Heads of various departments, acknowledging their leadership roles and encouraging the new faculty to collaborate actively within their respective departments. The Heads shared brief insights into their departmental goals and ongoing initiatives.
The Director further introduced the IQAC team of UIT and elaborated on the NAAC accreditation criteria, underlining the importance of maintaining academic and administrative quality standards. Coordinators of various academic programmes, student clubs, and technical societies were also introduced to facilitate better integration and involvement of new faculty members in campus activities.
Additionally, Dr Chaudhary explained the academic planning process for the upcoming odd semester and provided an overview of the University’s ERP system, ensuring that the faculty are well equipped with the necessary tools for effective teaching and administration.
The event was well attended by HODs, programme coordinators, and senior faculty members, who extended their support and guidance. The programme served as an essential platform to foster a sense of belonging and shared purpose among the newly joined educators.
