Uttaranchal Institute of Management (UIM), Uttaranchal University, organised the Faculty Orientation Programme for Quality Enhancement – 2025 on 28 July 2025. The objective of this programme was to help new faculty understand their roles and responsibilities, and to familiarise them with the department’s structure, governance, rules, regulations, and functioning. 

Prof (Dr) Pradeep Suri, Director, UIM, formally welcomed the newly appointed faculty. In his address, Dr Suri highlighted that their knowledge and experience would contribute to the institution’s commitment to academic excellence. 

Dr Tilottama Singh, Head of the Department, provided an overview of the key departmental activities. She spoke about the importance of coordination and clear communication among faculty members for the smooth execution of tasks. Dr Anil Singh Chauhan, Head of the Examination Committee, UIM, provided a clear explanation of the Examination and Evaluation Scheme of Uttaranchal University. He emphasised the need to maintain academic standards, ensure fairness, and promote transparency in assessment practices. Prof (Dr) Babita Rawat, Research Coordinator, UIM, shared information on the research support systems and opportunities available at the institution. She encouraged faculty to actively engage in research and contribute to the university’s academic output. Dr Sonakshi Bhatia, Cultural and Academic Events Coordinator, UIM, spoke about the variety of academic, non-academic, and cultural events organised throughout the year. Faculty were encouraged to contribute to future events and become part of the institution’s extended academic engagement beyond classroom teaching. 

The vote of thanks was delivered by Mr Prasenjeet Samanta, Assistant Professor (DIQAC), UIM. He expressed gratitude to all senior dignitaries and faculty members for their valuable contributions. He also thanked the speakers for their input, which will support the academic and professional journey of the newly inducted faculty members.
