The One-Week Faculty Development Programme (FDP) on “Importance of Indian Knowledge in Scientific Research,” organized by the School of Applied and Life Sciences (SALS), Uttaranchal University, was conducted from 7 June 2025 to 13 June 2025. The objective of the programme was to enhance participants' understanding of India’s rich and often untapped knowledge systems that offer potential for scientific advancement. Their integration with modern methodologies can foster sustainable, inclusive, and culturally anchored scientific progress. 

The programme included a series of thought-provoking sessions led by eminent experts. Prof (Dr) Ajay Singh, Director SALS inaugurated the FDP with a motivating address on producing impactful research by incorporating aspects of the Indian Knowledge System. Dr Dwarika Maithani, Professor, SGRR, underlined the significance of contributions made by ancient Indian mathematicians to scientific research. Dr Manmohan Singh, Head of R&D at UCOST, gave a compelling talk on research ethics, linking them to sophisticated planetary motion models. Dr Aparna Sarin, Assistant Director, DNA Lab, Directorate of Forensic Services, Junga (Shimla), shared perspectives on holistic health and traditional practices. Dr Gyanendra Awasthi, Professor, Dolphin (PG) Institute, and Dr G K Dhingra, Dean, Life Sciences, SDS University, Rishikesh, added valuable academic insights. The FDP concluded with an inspiring valedictory address by Prof (Dr.) Ajay Singh on 13 June 2025. 

Certificates of appreciation were presented to the esteemed speakers in acknowledgment of their significant contributions. The programme was efficiently coordinated by Er Junaid Aman with able support from Mr. Jagmohan Awasthi.
