As part of its Institutional
Social Responsibility (ISR) and in alignment with UN SDG 2 (Zero Hunger) and
SDG 4 (Quality Education), Uttaranchal University (UU) has partnered with The
Akshaya Patra Foundation (TAPF) to support mid-day meals for students in
government and government-aided schools in Dehradun.
This initiative, spearheaded by
the Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) of the university on May 24, 2025, marks a
significant step in addressing classroom hunger and promoting educational
equity.
A Memorandum of Understanding
(MoU) was formally signed and exchanged between Dr. Anuj Kumar Rana, Registrar,
Uttaranchal University, and Mr. Deepak Chugh, Cluster Head- Operations, The
Akshaya Patra Foundation (Dehradun), along with Prabhu Sri Janeshwar Dasa.
The signing ceremony was
attended by prominent university leaders:
- Sh. Jitender Joshi, President
- Ms. Ankita Joshi, Vice President
- Dr. Abhishek Joshi, Executive Director
- Prof. Dharam Buddhi, Vice Chancellor
- Prof. Rajesh Bahuguna, Pro-Vice Chancellor
- Er. Rajesh Deorari, Director (IQAC)
Also, in attendance were Er.
Sudhir Jugran (Assistant Manager, IQAC), Er. Rishi Nautiyal (Assistant Manager,
IQAC), along with academic leaders including Deans, Directors, Principals, and
other university officials.
Through this impactful
partnership, IQAC at Uttaranchal University reinforces its commitment to
sustainable community development, blending academic excellence with social
empathy.
