Law College Dehradun organised an Industrial Visit on 03 May 2025 to S S Packaging Industry, Selaqui. In commemoration of International Labour's Day under the aegis of Pro Bono Club. The event was initiated in the presence of Prof (Dr) Rajesh Bahuguna, Pro Vice- Chancellor & Dean, Law College Dehradun, Nodal Officer Pro Bono Club, Prof (Dr) Poonam Rawat, Principal, Law College Dehradun, Presiding Officer, Pro Bono Club and Dr. Abhiranjan Dixit, Faculty-in-charge, Pro Bono Club.
The visit commenced, wherein the Plant Head, Mr. Hans Tyagi helped with a short tour of the industry, explaining its working to the team. Later, Ms. Pakhi Kansal, Sr. Core Committee Member and Ms. Arya Singh, Sr. Core Committee Member of Pro Pono Club, initiated by expressing appreciation to the workers and giving an insight about the Club. Following this, Ms. Jagrati Pant provided an overview of the Pro Bono Club and its schemes regarding welfare of Labour class. The second session was conducted by Mr. Sudhanshu Gaur. During the session, he provided a comprehensive discussion on the schemes initiated by the Indian Government for the working class. Further, Ms. Vidhi addressed the pertinent issues of irregular wages and informed them regarding the general laws. The members of the Club interacted with the workers and acknowledged their grievances. Moreover, the interactive session was an integral part of the Industrial Visit. The primary aim of the campaign was to educate the labourers on various legal issues and sensitize them about their rights.
