Uttaranchal University celebrates Interantional Women’s Week

In celebration of International Women's week, the Women Cell of Uttaranchal School of Computing Sciences, Uttaranchal University in association with Shri Nityanand Swami Jan Sewa Samiti-JAI Youth Wing, Dehradun organized workshop on “Gender Sensitizationto promote Inclusivity and Awareness on 06 March 2025.  
The inaugural ceremony was honored with the presence of Shri Jitender Joshi, President, Uttaranchal University, Ms Anjali S. Chauhan, Program Officer at the National Gender and Child Centre, LBSNAA Mussoorie, Dr Geeta Khanna, Chairperson State Commission of Child Right Protection Uttarakhand, Ms Ankita Joshi, Vice- President, Uttaranchal University, Prof (Dr) Dharam Buddhi, Vice-Chancellor, Prof (Dr) Sonal Sharma, Director, USCS, Dr Sameer Dev Sharma, Hod, USCS, Mr Vinayak Sharma Swami, President-JAI Youth Wing Shri Nityanand Swami Jan Sewa Samiti. 
Prof Sonal Sharma extended a warm welcome to the dignitaries and emphasized that gender sensitization is about embracing equality in all aspects of life, beyond just understanding differences. Ms Anjali S Chauhan led an interactive session on men-women equality, stressing that physical differences don’t define capabilities and urging participants to challenge gender biases. Dr Geeta Khanna emphasized that biological attributes are natural, advocating for every day to celebrate women and recognize their contributions in all spheres of life. 
Prof Dharam Buddhi emphasized that true societal growth comes by fostering equality, respecting differences, and breaking stereotypes to build an inclusive and progressive community. 
A poster-making competition, mime act with dance powerfully conveyed gender sensitization, promoting equality, challenging stereotypes, and inspiring a discrimination-free society.  The vote of thanks was proposed by Mr Vinayak Sharma Swami. The workshop was successfully concluded with the support of Ms Manisha Saini, Ms Manisha Khanduja, Mr Harshit Gupta and Ms Divya Rawat, Ms Nisha Rana and Ms Noopur Dass.
