Faculty of Nursing, Uttaranchal College of Nursing, Uttaranchal University, organise awareness program on health & hygiene practices. The main objective of this event is to raise awareness and promote best practices for health and hygiene in the community and to inspire positive behaviour changes that will contribute to a healthier environment and reduce the spread of preventable diseases. By engaging the entire community in this programme, we tried to create a lasting impact on public health and well-being. The initiative will not only reduce disease transmission but will also foster a culture of responsibility, cleanliness, and community care.
This event include a session of hand washing education in which students teach proper hand washing techniques using the "5 Moments of Hand Hygiene" model. Demonstrate with soap and water, and provide hand sanitizer samples. Also Educate on proper waste disposal, recycling, and composting to promote a clean environment. Students also discuss with community members how good nutrition contributes to maintaining good health, and how hygiene supports better digestion and overall wellness.
The event successfully achieved its objectives of educating and empowering the community on proper hygiene practices. It provided an engaging, informative, and action-oriented platform for individuals to learn, share, and adopt healthier habits. The success of the event also highlights the potential for further initiatives that combine education, hands-on engagement, and resource distribution to foster better public health and hygiene practices.
