The Faculty Orientation Programme was organised by Uttaranchal College of Health Sciences on 12 August 2024, with the primary objective of welcoming and orienting newly appointed faculty members to the academic and administrative culture of the institution. The programme commenced with a formal welcome and an inaugural address by the Dr Kartikey, Director of UCHS, who elaborated on the institutional vision, mission and strategic goals, while underlining the pivotal role of faculty in upholding academic standards and contributing to holistic student development.
Following this, the Principal, UCHS, addressed the gathering and emphasised the significance of academic discipline, institutional values, and the expectations of faculty within individual departments. The orientation continued with an informative session conducted by the Head of Department, who provided insights into the functioning of various academic and administrative committees and stressed collaborative engagement in departmental initiatives. A dedicated session by the DIQAC acquainted the faculty with NAAC accreditation criteria, quality benchmarks and the continuous improvement framework, thereby fostering a culture of accountability and excellence.
The final session, delivered by the Examination Co-ordinator, offered a comprehensive overview of the institutional examination system, detailing the Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and faculty responsibilities in question paper setting, invigilation and assessment. The programme concluded with an interactive Q&A session, encouraging open dialogue and clarifying any queries.
