The School of Liberal Arts hosted a workshop on 26 March 2024 facilitated by Ms Kalpana Dhyani, an esteemed alumna. The session aimed to provide students with valuable insights into various aspects of psychology, focusing on practical exercises and discussions to enhance understanding and awareness.

Ms Dhyani commenced the workshop with a mindfulness exercise aimed at fostering awareness and reducing anxiety among the students. Following the mindfulness exercise, Ms Dhyani delved into diverse topics within the field of psychology. She discussed potential career paths in clinical and counseling psychology, shedding light on emerging fields such as digital psychology and virtual reality therapy. Moreover, she highlighted lesser-known government resources like the Kiran Helpline, Manas Mobile App, and Mano Darpan, emphasizing their significance in mental health support.

A key aspect emphasized during the workshop was the importance of cultural sensitivity in psychology. The workshop also explored the intersection of psychology with artificial intelligence (AI). Ms Dhyani elucidated how AI-powered assessments, chatbots, and personalized therapy are revolutionizing the field. Throughout the workshop, interactive sessions were conducted, involving activities like creating music or playing instruments to engage participants actively.

The session concluded with a unique exercise akin to mindfulness, where participants were guided to inhale and exhale while imagining their best and most special moments, promoting a sense of positivity and well-being.
