An Intra-University Athletic Meet 2023 was held in Uttaranchal University on 16 and 17 February 2023 under the office of Dean Student Welfare. The Athletic Meet was inaugurated by the Chancellor of the University, Shri Jitender Joshi by lighting the Mashaal. On this occasion, Vice-President, Prof (Dr) S S Sehgal, Vice Chancellor, Prof (Dr) Dharam Buddhi, Pro Vice Chancellor, Prof (Dr) Rajesh Bahuguna, Executive Director- SA & IT Services, Prof (Dr) Abhishek Joshi, Deputy DSW, Dr Kartikey and the Deans/Directors, HoDs of all the Colleges/Institutes were present.
After the inauguration, all the members of the University Sports Committee took part in the march past and gave the Guard of honour to the Chancellor of the University. All the participants carrying the Mashaal along with the Dean Student Welfare, Prof (Dr) Shravan Kumar entered the field with great zeal and enthusiasm. Participants from a total of 12 colleges of the university participated in the competition and showed their talent.
The categories of athletic sports competitions were as follows - Javelin, Discus Throw, Relay Race, Meter Race, Short-put, Long-Jump etc. The overall winner of all these competitions was Law College Dehradun, while Uttaranchal School of Computing Sciences stood second and Uttaranchal Institute of Pharmaceutical Sciences stood third. Mr Jaiwardhan, PTI coordinated the event under the supervision of Prof (Dr) Shravan Kumar.
