Department of Mechanical, Aerospace and Civil Engineering, Uttaranchal Institute of Technology, Uttaranchal University organized a Seminar on National Energy Conservation Day- 2023 “Connect, Collaborate, and innovate! Be part of India’s Energy Transition” on 14 December 2023.
On this occasion the Guest Speaker was Dr Madhu Sharma, a certified Energy Auditor- Bureau of Energy Efficiency (BEE), Govt. of India and having more than 25 years of experience in academics and research in Sustainability, Renewable Energy and Power Distribution. She stressed upon the importance of Energy Audit which is the translation of Energy conservation ideas into reality.
Prof (Dr) Dharam Budhhi, Vice Chancellor, Uttaranchal University emphasized on the importance Connect, Collaboration and Innovations for sustainable use of energy in personal and organizational/Industrial domains. The objective of an energy audit is to quantify and analyze energy consumption and promote sustainable alternatives/innovations through collaboration. Prof (Dr) S D Pandey, Dean UIT encouraged the students to participate in the event thereby making it a grand success. & explained that the objective of an energy audit is to save energy by maintaining & improve human comfort and health.
The purpose of the Seminar was to create awareness among the students and faculty about the impact of energy usage on the environment, biodiversity and various sustainable measures like green buildings that are available can be practiced having a sustainable development of society.
The faculty coordinators for the seminar were Mr Gaurav Thakur, Assistant Professor, Department of Civil Engineering & Mr Saurabh Aggarwal, Assistant Professor, Department of Mechanical Engineering. The event was attended by Dr Sanjeev Kumar Joshi, HoD-Mechanical Engineering, Dr Sanjeev Kumar Dhama, HoD-Aerospace Engineering, Dr Awadhesh Chandramauli, HoD-Civil Engineering, Dr Sumit Chaudhary, HoD-Computer Science Engineering along with Faculty members of Uttaranchal Institute of Technology.
