In commemoration of World Mental Health Day, School of Liberal Arts witnessed a day filled with empowering events and activities aimed at promoting mental well-being among its students and members of faculty. The first day began with the welcome address by Prof (Dr) Shravan Kumar, Dean- SLA followed by an inspiring speech by Shri Jitender Joshi Ji, the University Chancellor, emphasizing the significance of mental health and the need to address it openly. Dr Satbir Sehgal, Vice- President of the University also motivated the students to promote the culture of mental well-being. Dr Geeta Rani highlighted the importance of mental health.

To kick start the day, the University Chancellor and Vice- President unveiled its official mascot team, a group of dedicated students committed to raising awareness about mental health issues in campus and nearby village. Following the inauguration, an energetic mental health awareness rally took place, featuring students, faculty, and staff marching across the campus grounds, various departments and Kohlupani village . One of the most impactful events of the day was the "Wall of Hope & Confession Drive."

The second day was dedicated to shedding light on men's mental health, a topic often overlooked but equally important. The highlight of the day was a thought-provoking "Nukkad Natak" titled “Mai Jeena Chahta Hu” that delved into the complexities of men's mental health issues. The day also featured a "Tattoo Making" station, where participants could get temporary tattoos with mental health-related symbols and affirmations.

As the event came to a close, a solemn yet hopeful closing ceremony was held. The closing ceremony was a poignant moment to remind us that together, we can break the stigma surrounding mental health and create a more supportive and understanding community. The two-day event was coordinated by Dr Geeta Rani, Co-ordinator, Psychological Counseling Cell.
