Uttaranchal Institute of Management, Uttaranchal University has organised an international webinar on the topic “Navigating cultural bridges in an intercultural world” on 27 September 2023 for the students of BBA and MBA.  
The eminent personality Mr Carl Odehammar was the Guest Speaker of the Webinar, who has seven years of experience in the field of education, coupled with a commendable fifteen years’ service record as a soldier and officer in the Swedish Armed Forces. 
 
The guest clearly defined the cultural nuances and commonalities that bridge India and Sweden while appreciating the differences that enrich intercultural interactions. The speaker gave insights of India-Sweden relations, the historical, economic, and cultural ties between India and Sweden and collaboration in areas like technology, innovation, and sustainable development, and the role cultural understanding plays in strengthening these ties. The guest also addressed how AI can enhance intercultural competence and communication. Explore AI-driven tools for language translation, cross-cultural sensitivity training, and the potential for AI to bridge cultural gaps. It highlights the universal recognition that, in an interconnected world, our collective ability to exchange ideas and insights transcends geographical boundaries and plays a pivotal role in addressing and resolving complex challenges. The enthusiastic participation of students who asked questions to the guest speaker highlighted a worldwide eagerness for meaningful discussions capable of driving positive change. 
 
Prof (Dr) Pradeep Suri, Dean, Uttaranchal Institute of Management, Uttaranchal University addresses the audience with his welcome speech. Dr Tilottama Singh, HoD, UIM proposed the vote of thanks at the end of the webinar. The webinar was successfully coordinated by Dr Priyanka Bhaskar, Assistant Professor, Uttaranchal Institute of Management, Uttaranchal University, along with Mr Hardev Singh, Assistant Professor, Uttaranchal Institute of Management, Uttaranchal University.
