On the occasion of Swachh Bharat Abhiyan, the Sanskriti Club of Uttaranchal School of Computing Sciences (USCS) Uttaranchal University organized a 'Flash-Mob' on the premises of Dehradun Railway Station on September 29, 2023.
The program was organized in association with Shri Nityanand Swami Jan Seva Samiti & Youth Wing 'Jai' and North India Railway Dehradun Railway Station under 'Swacchta Pakhwada' from September 16, 2023, - October 2, 2023. The objective of the event was to raise awareness about cleanliness among the citizens of Dehradun.
The event was graced by the officers of Dehradun Railway Station, Mr. P. S. Tomar, Chief Health Inspector; Mr. D. S. Rithoria, Chief Health Inspector; Mr. Shashank Sharma, Station Superintendent; Mr. Sanjay Aman, Chief Reservation Superintendent; and Mr. Suhal Khan, Chief Ticket Inspector.
Dr. Sonal Sharma, Dean of USCS, motivated the student to participate in such activities, and she also said it is our responsibility to keep our university, city, and country clean.
Students of USCS presented two performances at the railway station on the theme of “Clean City, Green City.” Their performance was focused towards the most basic thing to remember no matter where you go. Be it the forest or a historical monument, tourists must not litter. Travelers are used to carrying snacks with them on their trips. It is imperative that bags or containers of these snacks are not left behind or thrown away irresponsibly and they were praised a lot by the crowd present at the Dehradun Railway Station.
The event was a great success with support Dr. Sameer Dev Sharma, HoD USCS, Mr. Abhishek Kumar Pathak, Head Academic and Non-Academic Events USCS and Ms. Manisha Saini, Co-Head Head Academic and Non-Academic Event. Students were accompanied and mentored by Ms. Manisha Khanduja, Head Sanskriti Club USCS.
