School of Agriculture (SOA), Uttaranchal University organized a workshop on “Prevention of Cyber Bullying and Ragging in Digital Age” on 14 August 2023 with aim to aware the senior students of UG and PG degree programmes of Agriculture about the adverse impact of ragging and cyber bulling and to motivate them not to indulge in any form of Ragging. The programme was started with welcome note by Prof (Dr) Mahipal Singh, Dean, SOA. He described the aspects of humanities and advised all participants to treat each other with respect, including junior students. Dr Rajendra Prasad, Associate Professor & HoD, SOA delivered a lecture on above topic and described comprehensively the cyber bulling and digital ragging, myths and facts of ragging, rules, laws, and punishment of ragging, and the functionary of departmental and university Anti-Ragging squad and committee, respectively. He also devised all senior students to motivate others not to indulge in any form (digital or real) of ragging on university campus. He provided contact details of all members of anti-ragging flying squads of SOA who have been assigned duties for continuous vigilance for the same and suggested students inform them if any case is observed. He also asked the students for their suggestions. Senior students requested healthy thy interaction with junior students in the presence of faculty members. The programme ended with a Vote of thanks proposed by Mr Jayanti Ballabh, Assistant Professor & Coordinator, Anti-Ragging Flying Squad, SOA.
