Poster Making and Slogan Writing Competition by Anti-Ragging

Uttaranchal School of Computing Sciences organized a "Poster Making and Slogan Writing" competition on August 17, 2023, with the aim of raising awareness among students about the grave issue of Anti-Ragging, centered around the theme "Ragging is a Crime." Enthusiastic students from MCA, BCA, and BSc IT enthusiastically participated in this Anti-Ragging Event, showcasing their creative efforts. The primary objective of this event was to educate students about the perils of ragging while fostering a positive atmosphere among them.


Prof. (Dr.) Sonal Sharma, the Dean of USCS, delivered a compelling address on the impact of ragging on students. She staunchly advocated a zero-tolerance policy against this destructive behavior and sought to heighten awareness regarding the criminal nature of ragging. She implored the students to become change-makers and endeavor to make their campus entirely free from ragging. Prof. Sharma emphasized the paramount importance of maintaining a healthy and conducive learning environment within educational institutions. She encouraged students to cultivate comfortable and supportive relationships between juniors and seniors.


The esteemed jury members for the event were Ms. Manisha Saini, Ms. Manisha Khanduja, and Ms. Swati Singh. Their evaluation criteria were based on creativity, originality, content, and the ability to effectively convey the central theme. A total of 18 teams, each consisting of three students, enthusiastically participated in the competition. The winners of the poster-making competition were Shivanshi Goel and Shradha from BCA III E, with Arshad Ali, Arshiya Naaz, and Sakshi Soni from BCA III C securing the first runner-up position. The second runner-up spot was claimed by Riya and Premlata from BCA III E. Rudra Pratap Singh from BCA III D emerged as the winner of the slogan writing competition.


The event's seamless coordination was led by Ms. Ruby Faizan, the Head of the Anti-Ragging Committee, and Ms. Manisha Khanduja, all under the guidance of Dr. Sameer Dev Sharma, HOD of USCS. It is worth noting that the event's resounding success was made possible by the enthusiastic support of the students.
