On 14 July 2023, Knowledge Resource Center and Literary Committee organized a -day symposium on 28th Reading Day celebration in the memory of Father of book movement in Kerala Late Dr P N Panicker to discuss and analyze the topic “Read and Grow”.
University Librarian Dr. Ramveer Tanwar welcomed Chief Guest of the program, Vice Chancellor of the University Honorable Professor (Dr.) Dharam Budhi ji, Prof. (Dr.) Shravan Kumar, Dean SLA Professor, (Dr.) Anil K. Dixit, LCD and Chairperson of the University Literary Committee, by presenting them Tulsi plant. Dr. Tanwar told in his welcome address that the Central Library of the University has a rich collection of resources
Professor (Dr.) Dharma Buddhi addressed the gathering on the reading day celebration. He also encouraged all the teachers and students to involve themselves more and more in the research field.
Celebrating the Reading Day, the textbook "Business Communication" authored by Dr. V. Bhuvaneshwari, Associate Professor LCD was also released by Honorable Chief Guest Professor (Dr.) Dharam Budhi ji.
Ms. Shweta Pandey, Ph. D student (Batch 2022), Uttaranchal University made a presentation on the topic "Embracing the Future of Literature". Professor (Dr.) Anil K. Dixit, President Literary Committee, registering his positive presence said that books are the storehouse of knowledge and the more we adopt the habit of reading, the more our knowledge will increase.
In the program (Dr.) Shravan Kumar Dean SLA gave a very informative and amazing lecture on reading skill and habit. He also appealed to the younger generation to inculcate the habit of reading books physically instead of digital ones.
Moderator Dr. Pinki Chugh was the center of attraction. She beautifully fulfilled her responsibility as moderator with the quote "Padhega India to Badhega India".
The wonderful and informative symposium was concluded by Mr. Muktendra Rawat, Librarian LCD by expressing thanks and gratitude to all present.
