Law College Dehradun, Faculty of Uttaranchal University organised Faculty Induction Program “Adhishtaapan-2023” on 31 July 2023. It was an initinitiative of, the DIQAC, Departmental Internal Quality Assurance Cell the objective to appraise the new faculty members on the structural and functional aspects of the institution. LCD has a robust system whose dynamics are integral and ought to be understood by all of us who are a part of the LCDian family. The various elements of curriculum, teaching pedagogy, examination system, mentorship and discipline are reflected in the Mission- Vision statement of the college.
The detailed aspects of the discipline were elaborated by Dr Jitendra Singh, Head of the Discipline Committee, and in-charge of the mentorship. Dr Anil Kumar Dixit spoke on the 3-pronged curricular aspects of non-teaching, teaching and evaluation based on which the faculty members are expected to deliver the curriculum. Prof (Dr) Poonam Rawat, Head of the Department of Law College shared the aspects of the curriculum that ought to be presented on the ERP system of the university speaking on the Academics, IQAC and C-Exams and emphasized on the leave process necessarily involving the assigning of substitution for classes scheduled on the day of leave.
Prof (Dr) Rajesh Bahuguna, Dean spoke at length about the journey of Law college, which is known to one and all, emphasized on the aspects of deliverance of the lectures, evaluation criteria and announced that henceforth there would be only one mid-semester examination instead of the two sessional examinations.
Dr Lakshmi Priya who moderated the event as coordinator DIQAC invited the new inductees to introduce themselves and appraised further on the role of the DIQAC at LCD. The formal vote of thanks was delivered by Mr Amit Kumar Chowdhary, Coordinator of Criteria 01 from the DIQAC team.
