Uttaranchal School of Computing Sciences (USCS), Uttaranchal University, Dehradun successfully completed a one-week Faculty Development Program (FDP) on “Innovation & IoT” from 1 June 2023 to 7 June 2023. The expert speakers of the FDP were Dr Marshal R, Scientist C, Indian Computer Emergency Response Team (CERT-In), and Mr Himanshu Goel Scientist B, Uttarakhand Council of Science and Technology (UCOST), Dehradun. Prof (Dr) Rajesh Singh Director (R&I), Prof (Dr) Anita Gehlot Head (R&I), Dr Shaikh Waseem Akram.
The primary objective of FDP on Innovation & IoT was to provide a comprehensive understanding of the principles, concepts, and advancements in these domains. During this Faculty Development Program (FDP) participants accumulated a few more technical skills such as programming and IoT platforms. They also advanced their existing knowledge of software Arduino, Proteus, and basic electronic components such as resistors, LCDs, and sensors. The participants were able to know more about common IoT security threats such as unauthorized access, data breaches, device tampering, and denial-of-service attacks. Participants acknowledged the importance of patent writing and diagram design in the Intellectual Property Rights session. The outcome of the FDP was the successful design of 12 patents during this session.
Prof (Dr) Sonal Sharma Dean, USCS proposed the vote of thanks on this momentous occasion, marking the end of the informative and transformative Faculty Development Program on "Innovation & IoT". She appreciated everyone for their active participation. She also emphasized the significance of the FDP and the importance of innovation skills for academicians.
The entire FDP was successfully coordinated by Dr Sameer Dev Sharma, Ms Manisha Khanduja, Mr Praveen Shah, Mr Keshav Gupta, and Ms Manisha Saini. At last, certificates of completion were awarded to the attendees, recognizing their active participation and successful completion of the program.
