The Department of Mechanical Engineering, Uttaranchal Institute of Technology, Uttaranchal University, hosted an international expert talk on "Role of Robotics, Mobile Machinery, and Digital Manufacturing in Achieving Sustainable Development", in association with Vilnius Tech, Lithuania, on May 3rd, 2023.The guests of the event were Prof. (Dr.) Sarunas Sukevicius (Department of Mobile Machinery and Railway Transport, Faculty of Transport Engineering) and Prof. (Dr.) Bucinskas (Head Department of Robotics, Mechatronics, and Digital Manufacturing) from Vilnius Tech, Lithuania.
The event began with lamp lighting by the dignitaries Prof. (Dr.) S.D. Pandey and Prof. (Dr.) Shravan Kumar (Dean, SLA). Prof. (Dr.) Vytautas discussed the significance of sustainability in today's world due to the high demand for resources and energy. He emphasized the potential of robotics, mobile machinery, and digital manufacturing in promoting sustainability and creating products that are eco-friendly and long-lasting.On the other hand, Prof. (Dr.) Sarunas Sukevicius focused on the transport sector, which encompasses various energy-intensive and costly machinery. Along with faculty members, students from UIT attended the event. The coordinators of the event were Mr. Saurabh Aggarwal (Assistant Professor-ME) and Mr. Vivek John (Assistant Professor, ME). In the end, Dr. Sanjeev Kumar Joshi (HoD-ME) proposed the vote of thanks.
