A Quiz Competition on National Technology Day on the topic “Technological Advancements and Innovations and their impact on society” was organized by the Eureka Club of Physics discipline, under the aegis of the School of Applied and Life Sciences, Uttaranchal University for the B Sc and M Sc students on 12 May 2023. The event was held at the Physics Department, SALS, Uttaranchal University, Dehradun. Both undergraduate and postgraduate students of B Sc and M Sc have enthusiastically participated in it. Quiz Competition was coordinated by Dr B S Rawat, Dr Reena Dhyani, Dr Hemlata Sharma, Dr Pankaj Singh Rawat and Dr Narinder Kumar to promote awareness and knowledge among students regarding technological advancements and their various aspects.
The event aimed to provide a platform for students regarding technological advancements. The competition was followed by multiple questions rounds, including preliminary, semi-final, and final rounds. The questions were designed accordingly to cover a wide range of topics related to technology and physics to assess the participants' knowledge of technological awareness, innovations, and their application in various fields. Himanshu Martoliya from M Sc Physics, II Semester won the I prize and Siddharth Kandwal also from M Sc Physics II Semester won the II Prize.
This type of event not only celebrates technological innovations and advancements but encouraged students to contribute to teamwork and collaborations in the fields of communications, energy storage, healthcare, and transportation. Finally, the event was concluded with the vote of thanks proposed by Prof B S Rawat, SALS.
