On
April 17 and 18, 2023, undergraduate and graduate students from the Department
of Chemistry, School of Applied and Life Sciences, Uttaranchal University,
Dehradun, visited the Sharon Biomedicine facility in the Selaqui Industrial
Area of Dehradun. Prof. (Dr.) Ajay Singh, Dean SALS, organised the industrial
tour for students.
Forty
students from various Chemistry disciplines, including B.Sc. (Hons.) Chemistry
and M.Sc. Chemistry/Industrial Chemistry, were taken in batches of 20-20
students were taken for the industrial tour.
Dr. Shivam Pandey, Dr. Deepika Dangi, and Dr. Amit Anthwal accompanied the students. Students utilised this opportunity to acquire a deeper understanding of the pharmaceutical industry and its operations. In addition, they visited the company's manufacturing area, packaging unit, and various laboratories. Students were instructed in a variety of laboratories, quality control, and quality assurance units, as well as several processes and techniques.
